Employees Think Alcohol Free Company Holiday Party Is Offensive
Seriously, who is going to want to hang out with coworkers without something to numb the brain. An alcohol free company part is a horrible idea and the person in HR who remotely thought it was a decent idea should be fired.
What is going to ease the suffering as middle management comes over to try and relate with you? Or what will help when your cat obsessed coworker comes to show you all 28 of their adopted felines?
Offering various foods, or virgin cocktails is not helping the situation either. It’s just a painful reminder of how sober you are at an off hours work event.
If face time was not a helpful factor in career development, you sure as hell would not be around for this one. Happy Holiday’s from the company… I guess. Maybe the raffle and holiday gifts will make up for it.
